Overcome Exam FearSURAT: It is not yet ascertained what effect Shakira's music could have on students having the fear of exam, but a local song 'Bhanvani Rutu Avi' (season of studying is here) is being touted as the right antidote. On this Valentine's Day, students are humming a musical message to make the exams their girlfriend and the song is now becoming popular among students which offers psychological boost for those preparing for exams. As part of an innovative idea to encourage the students an audio version of the song was released recently. Motivational words and music prepared on basis of psychological profiles helps the students to mould their minds for exam preparation. The song starts with "here comes the season to study and hard-work along with determination are the two keys for success." The song even asks students to start loving exams rather than their girl or boyfriend, television and cricket. It asks students to start a war-like preparation with weapons like pen leaving the fear behind. The last stanza inspires students not to take exam more seriously than life and should even learn to assimilate failure instead of surrendering to stress. The audio version of the song has been uploaded online on mehulsurti.com considering its demand among students state wide. "Exam related issues among students are increasing day by day and a song like this can help the students with specific guidance in motivational wordings. Both music and wordings of the song are psychologically prepared to enlighten brain cells," says Rudresh Vyas, head of the psychology department at MTB Arts College who had recently done doctoral study on effects of electromagnetic waves and rhythmic sounds on learning behaviour. "The music used in the song is purely based on 'shuddh raga'— major codes — which gives a relaxing feeling to the mind. Simultaneously the wordings encourage students to start concentrated preparation," informs Mehul Surti, composer of the song. Lyricist of the song psychiatrist Mukul Choksi says, "During exam period number of students take psychological help for various exam related stress. But if they start preparation in advance they might not face any problem. We are preparing a video album of the song." "The song got tremendous response from students in Hemchandracharya University, Patan when it was played to them," adds Vyas. Related articles:
