Colombian pop superstar Shakira has quietly enrolled at Los Angeles University UCLA to study the history of western civilization.

The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker has been going for classes for the past month and is studying with professor Robert Cleve, according to Peopleenespanol.com.

The curvy singer, who made her debut album ‘Magia’ at the age of 14, is a two-time Grammy Award winner and eight-time Latin Grammy winner. She is the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time and has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide.

Shakira is a Colombian-Lebanese singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, record producer, dancer and occasional actress who has been a major figure in the pop music scene of Latin America since the mid-1990s. According to the United World Chart, Shakira is as of 2007 the fourth most successful artist so far from the 2000s.
